Restaurant Photography
Marcus DC
Photography for Marcus DC , chef Marcus Samuelsson's flagship Washington D.C. restaurant, bringing his acclaimed Afro-Swedish-American culinary vision to the nation's capital inside the Morrow Hotel.
The project spanned food photography, bar and beverage imagery, interior and atmosphere documentation, and portrait work, creating a complete visual library for the restaurant's ongoing press, marketing, and social media needs.
About the Project
Hotel restaurant photography in Washington D.C.
Marcus DC operates within the Morrow Hotel, making it both a destination restaurant and an integral part of a luxury hotel's food and beverage identity. Tom's photography captures both dimensions: the restaurant as a culinary destination in its own right and as an expression of the hotel's hospitality philosophy.
The Marcus DC images support the restaurant's own press and marketing needs while also serving the Morrow Hotel's broader visual identity, demonstrating the visual versatility that comes from working with an experienced food and hospitality photographer.
Marcus DC's opening was covered by The Washington Post, using photography from this project. See the full list of press features.
Approach & Craft
Ongoing photography partnerships with restaurant groups
Tom's work with the Marcus Samuelsson Group across Marcus DC, Metropolis, and Red Rooster Overtown is an example of the multi-location photography partnerships he builds with restaurant groups and hospitality companies. Consistent visual language across a portfolio of restaurants strengthens brand recognition and simplifies the work of marketing teams.
